Getting some really untrustworthy vibes from the admin of mastodon.tech after seeing their Reddit post concerning the Mastodon project’s attempt to enforce its trademark. Kind of a shitty outlook, guys.

Except your twisting it backwards. Eugen would be suing me & I would be defending. To quote you:

Eugen contacted me with his legal issue bluffing me that he had a Trademark claim he didn’t. Eugen is the aggressor, I did not start this nor make initial contact with him. Nor would I have any case against Eugen except to defend myself.
Why would you be dishonest like this with your Public Blog Post?
Perhaps you’re trying to spin this backwards out of loyalty to Eugen & Mastodon (being the Asmin of r/Mastodon).If Eugen just leaves Mastodon.tech alone, there’s no need to hire a defense attorney. Everyone would live in peace.

I don’t see your instance lasting much longer than 18 months or so, lol.
The gGmbH is required to police trademark usage or it runs the risk of the brand being diluted and further unenforceable. In other words, they have to contact you about their brand and your use of it. Other than being a moderator in /r/Mastodon, I have zero ties to the Mastodon project and no particular side to this issue. My scant understanding of Trademark law however sees that you are not in the clear on this and they do have the right to ask you to not use their mark. Apologies for mixing up who sues who and who will be escalating matters further.
