Is there anyone out there that can convince City of Los Angeles ITA to create its own Fediverse system for official city business? Perhaps talk incoming council members or controller to look at this? Use the EU Mastodon system as a model maybe? ActivityPub is the future.

Twitter’s pivot
I see a potential pivot where Twitter will now focus on delivering a Twitter-as-a-Service product, with a bring your own domain feature (TwaaS BYOD). that’s the pivot. I hope it works but the Fedi was here first.

It’s time to bug your elected officials to investigate use of the #ActivityPub protocol to publish their public service announcements and otherwise participate in the Federated Social Web directly from their own web infrastructure rather than being involved in questionable commercial services.

Apologies folks I still haven’t set up RSS feed syndication for things like https://onewilshire.la/@BikeLAredditors or any of the other subreddit twitter feeds I run. It’ll happen but I had to back-burner this for a bit due to other obligations.

I haven’t set up a page cache yet and I’m afraid my poor little VPS is going to tip over. Note to self, please set up a page cache following whatever best practices exist for a WordOps managed WP site.
